Avril loves all things olfactory! That's your dog's nose!
As one of the first certified Mantrailing UK Instructors in Scotland, Avril enjoys sharing her love of the sport she started with Imanje's Inca some years ago. A great activity for dogs of all ages and stages - and a great confidence builder for nervous or reactive dogs. Introduction Courses and subsequent progression classes are held in various venues across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife.
A great sport for confidence building, bond strengthening and tiring our your 4-legged friend. This sport is also suitable for reactive dogs as we work one dog at a time.
Introduction to Mantrailing Workshop
£65 (per dog/handler team)
Our introduction workshops will give you the basics to start your Mantrailing journey. These are a mix of theory and practical learning, and you will have ample opportunity to ask questions while having fun with your dog.
We trail one dog at a time, so this is a great sport for dogs who prefer their own company for whatever reason. This does however mean that when not trailing, your dog will need to spend some time in your vehicle, so it is important that they are happy with this. There will be someone with the vehicles at all times so they will never be totally alone.
Mantrailing is for any breed, age or stage your dog is and each trail is tailored to you and your dog’s ability. Building foundations is crucial in order to progress.
Using only force free methods and a whole heap of fun rewards, and as an accredited Mantrailing UK Instructor, our aim is to help you and your dog have as much fun as possible.
Your dog will need a harness and a long line (we do not allow dogs to trail on a collar) as our dogs can get a bit excited in their search for their missing person!
Once you have completed the Introduction workshop, you can join us for practice sessions at our various locations. These can be found on our website.
£25 (per dog/handler team)
Our Mantrailing practice sessions are designed to help you and your dog progress in confidence, skills, and build on those foundations introduced in our workshops.
We run practice sessions in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Falkirk, Fife and West Lothian on a rotational basis. Note this is subject to change depending on the venue we are using, and details will be confirmed no less than 48hrs prior to the session on our private Facebook group.
You will be invited to this group after your introduction and further support and learning will be added to this group for your education.
You can join our practice sessions as long as you have completed a Mantrailing UK Introduction with a certified MUK Instructor. You will need to name your instructor on booking.
